ABOUT ME
Colourful & Joyful Artist from North London
I’m Eloisa Henderson-Figueroa (pronounced El-o-ee-sa), a Chilean/Scottish artist, born and raised in North London by my musician parents, who instilled a creative spark in me. I travelled around with them on tour with and got to see people following their passion. I always knew I wanted to do something creative, but music wasn’t for me! It was all about colour, joy and connection.
Murals are an extension of my childhood, but just in life-size form. They allow me to take people to somewhere exciting and joyful through transforming spaces and make people feel happy and welcomed.
Making the world happier and more exciting is my mission in life!
Before painting murals I studied 3D Materials Practice: Wood, Ceramics, Metals and Plastics from the University of Brighton where I got a 2:1 and specialised in plastics and metals. My degree work focused on creating toys and games for children that my mum worked with as a learning mentor in a primary school to support their emotional and behavioural needs. It was all designed to get them to talk about how they were feeling and make it fun.
This then lead me to design toys for M&S Christmas range, creating all the artwork for a kids tv show called Art Ninja, making props for window displays around the world, and working as a prop painter for tv and films such as The Great, The Avengers, Jack and the Giant Killer and many more.
For the past 6 years, I have been spreading joy through workshops, murals and colour. I have been able to transform spaces all around the UK, from schools up in Grimsby, to Meta’s head office, to giant toasters in Westfield.
When I’m not painting, I can be found cuddling and playing with my dog Olive the cockapoo!
